Hey guys,
I've decided to start saving up for a '66 type 34. only problem is--what kind of price do you think a fully restored one would go for? and how hard are they to get a hold of (happy to pay the right price for the right car!)
Thanks,
T

hi T ...

there are a lot of open sources in the web ... offering informations on karmann ghia type 14 and 34 cars!
where do you live ?

type 34 cars are and will be rare finds ...
also spare parts and parts generally are rare and expensive !!!!

first you should really think about the money you will and are able to spend!

if you are a beginner ( like me ) you should look for a driver in a more or less acceptable
condition!
the better car is always the better choice ... !

It's a great decision to buy the best quality restored/original T34 possible rather than buying a rusted wreck & spending thousands & years to get it back on the road. Plan to spend $15-18K for a nice one, but you really need to spend more time BEFORE that to learn about T34s, be able to identify their problem areas, and then be ready to pull the trigger once you've found the right one. I'm not sure why you've decided on 1966, but you really can't be that choosy when it comes to nice restored/original T34s. Consider any T34 that fits your needs. The 1966 models have very little that differentiates them from the earlier models (1962-65) and there are few 1966 models out there to choose from. The most common (if you can call any T34 common) are the 1964-65 models. Ask this group a LOT of questions, share photos of the proposed T34 you're investigating, and you'll be thankful for your hard work.

Good luck! We're all here to help you make the right decision for your budget & needs. Big Grin
