How To Use This Site

Welcome to the Type 34 Registry website. We're the largest resource of information on Volkswagen Type 34s (aka Razor Edge, Type 3 Ghia, 1500 Ghia, Grosse Ghia, and many more) in the world. This page will introduce you to the various parts of our website so you can easily navigate it.

What do you want to do?
Chances are good that you're here for a reason. Find one of the reasons below that matches what you need to get to what you want fastest.

I have a question about my car (or one that I want to buy)!
Well, that's easy. The first thing you should do is search the site using our Search box in the upper right corner of every page. Just type in something close to what you're looking for and hit Search. You'll get results from everywhere in our site that your search matches. From our hundreds of technical articles to our Forums. You can also search the mailing list archives by using the search box on the Mailing List main page
If you can't find what you need, post a message on our Forums. There's hundreds of people there who will see your question...at least ONE of them should be able to help you!
If you're still at a loss, sign up for our Mailing List. You can ask the email gurus and get a response pretty quick. Feel free to try the Forums AND the Mailing List!

I found a car and want to see if it's in the database!
That's easy. Just head to the Database and enter the VIN number. If the car is in there (we've got over a thousand already) you'll see all of the info we have on that one. If it's not in there, you'll be given an option to add it in. Please double check your info to make sure it's accurate. We don't want messy data!

I just want to see some general info about Type 34s!
Wow...did YOU hit the jackpot! Besides all of the resources already mentioned above, we've got Articles in various categories on the left. Click on the ones with arrows next to them to get sub-categories. We also have a ton of Literature scanned in for you to look at. Owner's Manuals, Part List, Workshop Manual, Wiring Diagrams as well as a bunch of Miscellaneous Literature. We've also got a huge Photo Gallery for you to lose many hours of your life. We also have an article that will give you the scoop on these goofy cars we love, as well as a Photo Tour online!

I'd like to upload some photos to the Gallery!
We'd love to see them! Just go to the appropriate section and upload, it's free and available to all registered members. If you'd like your very own album, just let me know and I'll create it for you.

To upload an image, navigate to the gallery and then click on the 'Upload' button. Browse to the picture on your computer, Type in a name for the image and add a description. Then hit the button to upload the image. If there is a problem (it's too big etc) it should let you know what the problem is. If everything is okay, it will show you your image in the gallery. Images cannot be any larger than 600 high or 800 wide and must be smaller that 350Kb in size - most modern digital cameras and scanners will produce an image that is larger than this so you will need to rescale the image before uploading it. Typically an 800x600 image at average resolution should be much smaller than the allowed 350Kb.

I want to know what's happening in the world of Type 34s!
Well, every page has the next couple of months worth of events in the Calendar If you have an event coming up that you'd like to see some Type 34s at, please add it to the calendar We like to feel needed.

I want to advertise my product/item/vehicle for sale!
Well, if you have a Type 34 part or car for sale, please visit our Classified Ads. If you are selling parts to the Type 34 community at large and would like a Parts Page made to sell your wares, please contact the Webmaster.

I'd like to buy some parts for my car, or at least a t-shirt to let people know how cool I am!
We are more than happy to help you out with that too. Head over to the Registry Store to see what goodies we have for sale. Sales of t-shirts, stickers and that sort of thing help support this site. Some custom items are available, ask the Webmaster.

I don't speak English very well!
We have Forums in German and soon in Spanish and Japanese. If you would like to help out, please let us know and we'll create a Forum in your language! Hey, how did you read this whole paragraph? You're doing very well!

Who pays for all of this stuff?
Well, I do! It's not a huge expense, but if you'd like to help out, please feel free!
We hope you enjoy your visit here to www.type34.org. If you are still lost after reading this, then send me an email and I'll try to point you in the right direction.
